A 2020 Vision for Our Children’s Future: The Physicians for Human Rights Conference, organized by Geisel's Physicians for Human Rights Chapter & undergraduates of the Nathan Smith Society, will be held on January 10 & 11 in the Life Sciences Center at Dartmouth College. Children are the faces of tomorrow and the foundation of our collective future, but in our ever-changing world, children’s right to health continuously encounters new challenges. Join us in imagining a path forward at the 8th Annual Physicians for Human Rights Regional Symposium, A 2020 Vision for Our Children’s Future, begins with a kickoff screening of the Emmy-nominated film Dawnland, Friday, January 10th 6pm. The symposium continues Saturday, January 11th, 8am-4pm, with Keynote speaker Lola Adedokun, MPH, the Director for Child Well-Being and Director for the African Health Initiative at the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation Program. The program goes on to tackle the many facets of children’s right to health: the echoes of adverse childhood events (ACEs), the face of healthcare for youth around the world, the forgotten rights of displaced children, the impact of maternal health on children’s health outcomes, the rights of children with disabilities, the empowering effect of education, and the evolving relationship between children and technology. Many Upper Valley organizations will be present, sharing their incredible work and connecting with attendees interested in getting involved.
