The Upper Valley MedTech Collaborative is excited to convene a group of like-minded innovators to address our most pressing medtech and business questions. 

Immigration Issues in MedTech:
Our panel of experts will discuss hiring from outside the United States and issues that can arise. Points include:

• Trends in immigration
• Issues that companies should be thinking about prior to committing to the immigration path
• Overview of immigration process
• Executing the immigration process
• F-1 Optional Practical Training (OPT), F-1 STEM OPT and student and employer obligations, H-1Bs and the cap gap provisions for F-1 students

Our speakers are John Wilson, principle attorney at GoffWilson Law, a legal firm dedicated to immigration law, and Susan Ellison, Director, Office of Visa and Immigration Services at Dartmouth College. 

Susan Ellison is the Director of the Office of Visa and Immigration Services at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. Prior to joining Dartmouth in October 2010, Susan was a Partner with Fragomen, a global immigration law firm. She also served as an adjunct professor at Boston College Law School, where she taught a course in Business Immigration Law. Susan is a member of AILA, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, and NAFSA: Association of International Educators.

John Wilson is President and Partner of GoffWilson, P.A., a global immigration law firm. His practice focuses exclusively on global immigration both inbound and outbound assisting employers, employees and families. John represents businesses in various industry sectors in relation to immigration issues, and provides I-9 compliance consulting, training and auditing services. John is the founder and immediate past chair of the Diversity Workforce Coalition, a NH nonprofit organization promoting a diverse workforce. John is a frequent lecturer for various national human resource associations, community groups and businesses on immigration and I-9 issues. Jwilson@goffwilson.com
