GEOKON is a manufacturer of sensors and instrumentation used in civil, mining and structural engineering projects throughout the world.
We are currently seeking Mechanical Assemblers, who at the direction of the Assembly Supervisor, is responsible for bench assembly operations to produce vibrating wire gauges. Assemble parts, pieces and/or products using a variety of tools and/or equipment according to required specifications, processes, and procedures in an area of production in a manufacturing environment. Ensure that all parts fit correctly and are suitable for final product. These are full-time positions.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Read, comprehend, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and other written instructions and follow established procedures to accurately assemble products
Cable preparation; including stripping, tinning and labeling
Mechanical type assembly using hand tools and power tools
Gluing and sealing using Loctite, epoxy, RTV and other compounds
Working with various sized materials from heavy parts to small intricate parts
Soldering and assembling various parts to VW transducers
Perform quality testing/inspecting to ensure the product meets specifications and quality standards
Identify product defects and report on issues to appropriate personnel
Rework and/or repair assembled products according to engineering specification changes
Keep accurate records/logs etc.
Handling of ESD sensitive materials and equipment
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
1-3 years of assembly experience
Ability to follow written and verbal work instructions and blueprints for complex and standard product assembly
Ability to maintain equipment and a clean work environment
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
Perform other related duties as assigned
Must be authorized to work in the United States
