AVA Gallery and Art Center Launches From Seed to Bloom Campaign

AVA Gallery and Art Center is launching a comprehensive campaign, From Seed to Bloom, to raise $2.7 million by AVA’s 50th anniversary in 2023.  The funds are an investment in AVA’s future and its ability to continue its mission with art classes for all ages and abilities, exhibitions showcasing a wide range of visual arts and events to build and inspire community arts.

The launch of the From Seed to Bloom campaign will be announced at the exhibition opening on Friday, August 27 from 5:00-7:00 pm.  To protect public health, all guests at AVA are required to wear masks while indoors and practice social distancing.  Exhibitions are free and open to the public in the spacious, cool and well- ventilated galleries.

Funds raised through the comprehensive campaign will be used to address needs in three major areas critical to AVA’s mission, vision and values.   AVA will invest in the physical infrastructure of both its downtown Lebanon buildings, including the historic Carter-Kelsey building at 11 Bank Street that has been recognized with an award for Leadership in Environmental Engineering and Design (LEED).  Donations will ensure the organization’s financial sustainability by eliminating debt and establishing a reserve fund. Staffing levels and program offerings will be adapted to meet a broad range of abilities, needs and interests.

Alan DiStasio leads AVA’s volunteer Board of Directors.  Alan notes that “I am sincerely humbled at what AVA has achieved over the past 48 years.  From modest beginnings in a Norwich barn nearly 50 years ago, AVA has blossomed into a corner stone within the vibrant Upper Valley Arts community.  Now, with the generosity, kindness, foresight, and community spirit of our donors and patrons, the From Seed to Bloom campaign looks to carry AVA and the community forward for generations to come.”

AVA is an independent nonprofit organization established here in the Upper Valley in 1973.  It is a strong community asset with a clear mission: As a catalyst for creativity, AVA cultivates an openness of space and mind to inspire, nurture, and showcase the artistic spirit.  For more information about AVA Gallery and Art Center see the website avagallery.org or call 603-448-3117.
