The Upper Valley is a geographical area in central New Hampshire and Vermont that gets its name from the Upper Connecticut River, which runs along both sides of the region. Although divided by the Connecticut River and state boundaries, the region considers itself one community, with residents utilizing services on both sides of the river. The area even has the first interstate school district in the country, the Dresden School District, servicing the towns of Norwich, VT and Hanover, NH.
